Together with the international media alliance (ima) the German Science Centre (DWZ) jointly organised the Science Media Summit on 7th November at the DWZ in Zamalek. The event brought 11 young Egyptian journalists eager to work in the field of science journalism together with 5 project partners of the German Science Centre.
How about postdoc research in Germany? The event “Postdoc Opportunities in Germany” on 3 December 2014, organized by the German Science Centre in Cairo (DWZ) showed ways of doing research in Germany for outstanding Egyptian postdoctoral researchers.
Around 180 Postdocs from various Egyptian universities and research institutes attended this information day.

The German Science Centre (DWZ) together with more than 900 visitors celebrated the Egyptian-German cooperation in higher education, science and research on the third “German Science Day for Graduates and Researchers”.
On 14th November the German Science Centre invited for the third time Egyptian and German university presidents and vice-presidents to attend the Executive Meeting to discuss the topic „Broad Access to Higher Education – a Challenge for Quality Assurance and University Management“. The Executive Meeting provides a unique platform for mutual exchange of ideas and experiences and allows the intensification of networks and the identification of potential fields of future cooperation.
Increasing the international visibility of research findings of young Egyptian Scientists – this was the main idea of the “International Publishing Workshop”, organized by Dr. Florian Kohstall, Freie Universität Berlin, and Sarah Wessel, Orient-Institut Beirut, in cooperation with the German Science Centre in Cairo.
The German Science Centre and its nine partner institutions presented themselves on November 1st, 2014 at the Germany @ Azhar Park event, which was organised under the patronage of the German Embassy in Cairo.
TU Berlin Campus El Gouna and its staff proudly welcomed their new generation of students on 10 and 11 October. For the coming two years these ambitions young people will follow a Master's program in Energy Engineering, Urban Development, or Water Engineering. Their studies will take place in El Gouna and Berlin.
On the 8th of November, young Egyptian entrepreneur Hany Elkhodary will deliver a presentation in front of the attendees of the finale to the Falling Walls Lab in Berlin as one of 100 worldwide finalists. His project on biogas practice in Egypt and vision on how the Egyptian gas shortage can be solved, earned him the first price among the participants of the first Falling Walls Lab Cairo and qualified him for the finale.
