Within this context, our society demands for integrative communication and strategies. One of them will be finding new ways of presentation and visualisation of information.

Fraunhofer IWES launches Online Master's Degree in Wind Energy Systems

After four years of collaboration between the University of Kassel and The Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES), the international M.Sc. in Wind Energy Systems program was officially launched in November 2015. In the first semester students from Germany, Turkey and Switzerland have enrolled in the program.

DWZ organises first Egyptian-German competence cluster in water

Being faced with a rapid population growth, pollution and an ineffective irregation system, the scientific field of „water“ has become one of essential importance for Egypt over the last decades. Following the Egyptian-German Year of Science and Technology 2007, the bilateral Egyptian-German research cooperation in the fields of protection, upgrading, quality management and efficient usage of water resources have intensified, leading to the establishment of a wide network of DAAD-Alumni and projects.

Festive celebration on the 55th jubilee of the DAAD office in Egypt

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) celebrated the 55th anniversary of the Cairo office with its partners from Egypt and Germany on 12th of October 2015. The event took place at the premises of the DAAD Cairo in Zamalek in the presence of Dr. Dorothea Rüland, Secretary General of the DAAD, the German Ambassador to Egypt H.E. Mr. Julius Georg Luy and Prof. Dr. Hossam El-Malahey, First Undersecretary of State, Head of Scientific and Culture Mission Abroad as well as a number of prominent scientists from both countries.

Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities recognises training modules offered by DAAD Kairo Akademie

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities (SCU) have signed a memorandum of understanding to acknowledge and validate the modules designed and offered by the DAAD Kairo Akademie (DKA). The signature ceremony took place at the DAAD premises in Zamalek on the sideline of the DAAD 55th anniversary on 12th October 2015. The signing parties were Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hatem, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities and Dr. Roman Luckscheiter,  Director of the DAAD Cairo office.

TU Berlin Campus El Gouna welcomes new students from 11 different countries

TU Berlin Campus El Gouna proudly welcomed a new generation of students on 11thand 12th October. For the coming two years these ambitious young people will follow a Master's programs in the fields of Energy Engineering, Urban Development and Water Engineering. Their studies will take place in El Gouna and Berlin.

TUM PhD student the first Egyptian astronaut candidate

There has never been an Egyptian astronaut. But that will not prevent Akram Abdellatif from realizing his dream of going into space. Currently writing his doctoral thesis at TUM’s Institute of Flight System Dynamics, the 27-year-old has had to make various sacrifices along the way. And they are clearly paying off: he has now been accepted onto the PoSSUM research program, supported by US space agency, NASA. Training for the space-mission begins next week.Becoming an astronaut is not exactly conventional in Egypt, to put it mildly. Egypt does not have a space agency.
