On 7th of June 2015 the symposium “Steel Industry: Future Challenges” took place at the Union of Egyptian Industries in Egypt. This Industry Academia Symposium was organized by the Central Metallurgical R&D Institute CMRDI in Egypt, the Metallurgical Holding Company, the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, FASRC Sudan, Ezz Flat Steel, the Chamber of Metallurgical Industries and the Industrial Modernisation Centre.
Bright young researchers, entrepreneurs and professionals can as of now apply for the Falling Walls Lab Cairo on 25th July 2015 to present their research work in 3 minutes. Applications are due by 1st July 2015.
In 2015, international Falling Walls Labs take place all over the world and call for the application of Master students, postdocs, young professionals and entrepreneurs up to the age of 35. Ground-breaking research projects, initiatives, ideas and business models from all disciplines are welcome.
Since the German Science Centre was launched in 2012, it has triggered a number of initiatives on internationlisation of Science, Higher Education and Research by bringing together Egyptian and German experts from academic institutions, researchers and representatives of industry and government.
On the periphery of the German Science Days 2015, where experts of the DWZ partner universities presented research opportunities, the DWZ organised a discussion forum between representatives of international offices at German and Egyptian universities.
On the 28th of April 2015, the DWZ, DAAD and the Technische Universität München took part in 4th scientific conference of the Ain Shams University “Towards a National Innovation System – Current Indicators and Future Prospects”. The Conference was organized by the Ain Shams University under the auspices of The Prime Minister, Minister of Higher Education, and State Minister for Scientific Research.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Cairo has successfully organized the event “Study programs for the Labour Market” which took place under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education at the Conrad Hotel Cairo on 23rd April. The event took place in the presence of H.E. the Minister, Prof.Dr. Sayed Abdel Khalek and Mr. Christoph Retzlaff, the Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy.
In 2013, the double degree master program "Urban Design", a cooperative program of Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University - Faculty of fine Arts, and Brandesburg University of Technology Cottbus - Senftenberg, Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Urban Planning, was established. The postgraduate program - with English as the medium of teaching - is for graduates who are interested in responding to the urgent needs in urban design for revitalization of historic city districts.
For the fifth time companies and universities from Europe and the Arab countries present themselves and provide information about their job and study offers in the MENA region. Experts from both regions guarantee a top-flight supporting programme. Admission is free for visitors.
After four successful editions since 2011, the EuroArab Centre for Education is organising the fourth EuroArab Career and Education Fair KUBRI at Garching Campus of Technische Universität München, Germany, on 23-24 April 2015.
Together with the EU Delegation to Egypt the German Science Centre (DWZ) took part in the Industry Academia Collaboration Conference (IAC) on 7th April 2015 at Al-Azhar Conference Centre.
The IAC is an annual international conference that aims to support the integration between scientific research and industry and is jointly organised by the Academy of Scientific Research (ASRT), the Science, technology and Development Fund (STDF) and Hadath.
